thalamtnafsee:

I have a problem with men who believe that Muslim women must feel obliged to completely veil their existence by visibly disappearing within the garments of “hijab.” I also have a problem with men who suggest that a woman’s body is inherently inappropriate, and that she must, in every circumstance, “guard her chastity” from the general public.
Remarkably, we have a few Muslim women who, in a very graceful way, clearly highlight the double standards that exist within the Muslim Ummah (for a lack of a better term). If you, as a Muslim male, feel obliged to have Muslim women know that people are “staring at your picture,” then brother, allow me to suggest the same notion to you as well.
If you wish to firmly establish the notion of the veil as an important religious establishment, then brother, I suggest you apply the same predicament to yourself (and brothers like yourself) as well.
And Motahare, God bless your soul.
